flying back to north carolina

this morning was rough. i said goodbye to my mom and sarah as they left for school, and my dad took me to breakfast before we went to the airport. it was so nice seeing my family, i really wish that they didn't live so far away. keira did very well on the plane ride again. the only problem during the flight was the kid sitting behind me kicking my seat. oh well. we got home safely and can't wait to go back and visit again.

last night in texas

tonight was kinda hard. i knew that it would be a while before i got to see my parents again. after everyone got home from school and work, we stayed around the house. when it was keira's bath time, my mom put her in the sink. this is how she was bathed the whole time we were there, but tonight she had so much fun. she took her cup and was pouring water everywhere. my mom let franklin and jasmine come and see her. i think jasmine wanted to jump in with her. she was splashing and making all kinds of a mess. my mom didn't care. after that i gave keira her bottle and she went to bed.

happy easter

we started off the day by going to sunrise service at my mom's church. after the service was finished, we went and had breakfast inside the church. i was very suprised at how well keira did. she was quiet during the service, except for when we sang. she thought that she should also sing. it was really too cute. during the breakfast, i fed her and then to keep her occupied i gave her some puffs. boy does she love those. after that, we went home and got ready for a nice easter lunch and for jess to leave. keira spent some time with her, and before we knew it, jess had to go back to college. we stayed around the house for the rest of the day. keira really loves all the attention that she is getting.

downtown san antonio

while we were in san antonio, we figured that we should go see some of the sites, including downtown. we started off by going to river center mall and having lunch on the river walk. she loved hearing the music, seeing all the people, and spending grandpa's money. after the mall, we walked to see the tower of the america's, hemisphere park, and the alamo. it was a long beautiful day, and we had lots of fun.

a trip to the zoo

zoo entrance
looking at the monkeys
lemur hanging out
black bear eating an apple
grandma and keira looking at birds
keira and grandpa
after feeding the animals keira was hungry too
the petting zoo
getting attacked
this was so much fun

we, as well as half of san antonio, enjoyed a day at the zoo. keira's favorite animals were the birds, the big cats, and the fish. she got really excited when we saw the monkeys, i think they reminded her of jeremy! later on in the day, we met up with one of our old neighbors, jill, and her three boys. we all ate ice cream together at the end of another great day.

franklin and keira

whenever my mom would change keira's diaper, franklin would bring her his tennis ball. i'm not sure why he would do it, but every single time he would go and find the ball and bring it to her.

horse back riding

this morning started off really nice. we all got up and went to church, went to friday's for lunch, came home and took a nap. pretty much an average sunday for my family. well, my mom asked if we should go out to visit her best friend, marj, and see her new house and four horses. everything started out nicely. we brushed the horses, keira got to say hi to all of them, and got ready to ride. i started out by walking chester around the pen. after getting used to him, marj's niece, kira, led keira and i around the pen. sarah wanted to get on the horse and try to trot with him, but i told her that i wanted to first. this was either the wisest or stupidest decision that i have made, and we all know that i make some pretty stupid decisions. i don't really remember what happened. i know i was trotting with him and marj said, "good job, erika." and then i was like, all right let me do that again. big mistake!!!!! my left foot slipped out of the stirrup, and as it did the horse bucked, and i went flying off. my head bounced off of the ground, and i was just in a whole lot of pain. we called ems to come out and get me. great idea, marj lives off the beaten path. that much pain on a gravel road in an ambulance is not much fun. so i go to the hospital. and they cut off all of my clothes. hello, my mom had just taken me shopping, everything was new, even my undies. they did a cat scan and x-rays. they thought i was going to need surgery for some bleeding, but they said that it would clot on it's own. all that time and nothing was wrong. oh well better to be safe than sorry. i'm just in a whole bunch of pain. go figure.

keira's new favorite toy

my friend michelle was very generous and gave my mom some toys for keira to play with while she was down here. she really loves the leap frog music thingy. it makes all kinds of noises, sings the alphabet, and plays many different songs. i'm going to have to (or maybe grandma will) get her one of these.

keira gets her ears pierced

i got tired of having people telling what a cute little boy that i have, even when she was all dressed in pink, so i took her to go get her ears pierced. the hardest part was getting the dots

lined up. they finally got them, held her down, and put in the earrings. she cried for only a minute and then stopped. she did so well!
